Essential Certifications:

EWOF (Electrical Warrant of Fitness):

  • Expires every 4 years

  • Ensure your power lead is in the vehicle when you come for your EWOF inspection.

Gas Certification:

  • A gas certificate remains valid indefinitely unless an appliance or gas line is altered.

  • We recommend a gas-tightness test every 4 years to ensure safety and reliability.

SSC (Self-Containment Certificate):

  • Required for many campgrounds and freedom camping sites.

  • We provide advice and assistance to ensure your vehicle meets the necessary self-containment standards.

Sticker Colours Explained:

  • Green Sticker –
    Full self-containment approved, valid for 4 years from the date of issue at NZMCA Parks, NZMCA events and CSC freedom camping sites.

  • Yellow Sticker –
    Conditional certification issued to NZMCA members with portable toilets or those with fixed toilets who do not freedom camp (10years) Valid for 10 years at NZMCA Parks, NZMCA events, but not at CSC freedom camping sites.

  • Blue Sticker –
    Blue stickers were issued under NZS 5465:2001: valid for 4 years from the date of inspection at NZMCA Parks and NZMCA events and CSC freedom camping sites until June 7, 2026 (with the exceptions relating to vehicles with portable toilets and warrants issued since 7/6/2024)

Remember to send your form to NZMC (New Zealand Motor Caravan Association) once your certification has been completed.
